MODERN MID CENTURY - Colour Palette Inspo

I am by no means a gardener extraordinaire, however a great way to find inspiration for a colour palette can be in our own back yard. During Mid Century, especially in California the gardens featured gorgeous colour through flax, cactus, succulents, aloes and we can't forget Banana Palms can we.. Today's palette has been inspired by my very own Aloe Plicatilis or better known at Fan Aloe that we have in our rockery. A great exercise to find palette inspiration can be to take a photo of a plant or landscape and then extract the colours hidden within the image. Here I've used Dulux colours of New Zealand. I find this especially helps to connect the home to its landscape or surroundings. Still to come in our *February Focus* is a feature on Mid Century Lighting & Textiles.

Lighting - Florian Pendant Freedom Furniture, Drapery - Laconia Air in colour Brick from James Dunlop Textiles, Cushion - Indira colour Ochre from Mulberi, Chair pictured is conceptual only . Paint colours featured are Dulux - Narrow Neck Quarter (background), Dulux - Clive, Dulux - Yaldhurst, Dulux - Okete, Dulux - Bland Bay, Dulux - Whakapapa.
