MOD - MID CENTURY LIGHTING

If you ever wondered who let paper lanterns get so popular, this is it!! Lighting Design during the mid 20th century was extremely exciting. Post war you had new methods & materials that really boosted the industry. Many products were now able to be mass produced and exported around the globe. My favorite part of mid century design is that you can still find original pieces that are now iconic for sale! Or the companies are still in production. Designers like Bruno Gatta of Stilnovo and Alvar Aalto really shaped the industry, with beautiful timeless designs that are still so relevant today. Lighting can either be a task accessory or really set the atmosphere for an entire space. You don't have to go mad with every item in your home themed as modern mid century however you can cleverly accent using a nostalgic piece of lighting, while still allowing room for your own personality to shine through. So it could be a serious commitment purchasing your own piece of Stilnovo lighting or it could be a mass produced, but mid century inspired paper lantern. Either way, don't you agree that we can all relate to Modern Mid Century design style? Whether its a little or a lot.
